New Zealand's Lydia Ko is in a strong position to win her first tournament of the year after sitting in second place at the JTBC Founders Cup in Phoenix, Arizona.
The world number four shot a five-under 67 to sit one shot behind leader American Gerina Piller. Ko was sharing the lead before a bogey on the final hole of her round.
Ko was in scintillating form on the front nine carding six birdies and a bogey to be five-under at the turn. Five of those birdies came over six holes. the 16-year-old picked up another birdie at the fifth hole, the 14th of her round.
Ko's best finish so far on the LPGA Tour in 2014 is a tie for third at the Australian Open in February.
