What chance Lydia Ko bouncing back to the winner's circle on her 19th birthday?
The world No 1 has form at the Lake Merced course winning the last two LPGA tournaments there in close finishes from Stacy Lewis in 2014 then a sudden-death victory over Morgan Pressel last year.
Ko had a quiet tournament by her standards last week in Hawaii when she finished outside the top 15 for the first time this year.
She had been in stunning form finishing runner up in the Founders Cup in Phoenix then winning the Kia Classic and the year's first major at Rancho Mirage.
After that blitz, Ko flew from California to an awards evening during Masters week then back to Hawaii where she tied for 23rd in the Lotte Championship.
