Masterton's Ben Campbell finished the best of the New Zealand golfers in a share of 11th place at the Lake Macquarie Amateur in New South Wales yesterday.
Campbell, who won the Aaron Baddeley Junior International last month, shot an even-par 72 to finish on three-under par 285 at the coastal Belmont Golf Club near Newcastle.
Australian representative Scott Arnold fired a final round five-under 67 to win on 15-under 273. He finished three shots clear of compatriot Brendan Smith.
Auckland's Ryan Fox was the next best placed New Zealander in a share of 28th place on one-over after a final round three-under 69 while Peter Spearman-Burn (Wellington), Sean Riordan (Takaka) and Nick Gillespie (Hastings) were tied on 35th place on two-over 290.
