New Zealand golfer Mark Brown shot a three-under 69 to finish in a tie for 23rd at the South African Open today (NZT).
Brown joined England's David Dixon and Scotsman David Drysdale on 10-under 272, pocketing euro 10,350 ($NZ18,500) at the Durban Country Club.
Brown posted opening rounds of 68 and 69 before an even-par third-round 72 dropped him down the leaderboard.
He regrouped for a final-round 69, which included four birdies and was marred only by a bogey five at the 17th.
South African Ernie Els claimed his fifth title thanks to a final round 63 to finish on 25-under 257, one shot clear of countryman Retief Goosen.
