New Zealand professionals Danny Lee and Tim Wilkinson have finished in a share of 10th place at the inaugural Brasil Classic on the web.com golf tour in Brazil.
Lee, who led at the halfway stage after consecutive rounds of 65, began the final round four shots back from the leader Chilean Benjamin Alvarado in a share of third place. He faded after firing a one over par 72 to slip back seven places.
Wilkinson dropped one place in the final round when he carded a two under par 69 while Hamilton professional Steve Alker shot a superb five under par 66 to climb 25 places into a share of 17th.
The leading Kiwi pair of Lee and Wilkinson finished on a 12 under par total seven shots back from the champion Alvarado who won by one shot from South African Dawie van der Walt.
Lee got off to a good start and was firmly in contention for the title when he made the turn in three under par 32 but he couldn't continue that momentum on the back nine, dropping four shots.
