Is Tiger back?

Jesper Parnevik sure thinks so.

The Swedish golfer has revealed Woods has quietly made a striking return to form on the driving ranges ahead of his anticipated return to golf in California next week.

Woods' future has been clouded at best since withdrawing from the Farmer's Insurance Open in February, 2015, after succumbing to a back injury.

Parnevik says the 11-time PGA Player of the Year is fast on his way back to his impeccable best.

Woods appears to have a lot to offer on his return at the Safeway Open in California, beginning October 14th (NZT).

"He's been hitting a lot of balls, and he's hitting it great," Parnevik said in an interview.

"He's pounding it a mile and flushing everything.

"On the range at least, his trajectory and ball flight are like the Tiger we knew 15 years ago."

Woods appears to have his future golf plans in order after displaying an interest in playing the European Tour's Turkish Airlines Open and the Hero World Challenge later in the year.

"My rehabilitation is to the point where I'm comfortable making plans, but I still have work to do," Woods said.

"Whether I can play depends on my continued progress and recovery. My hope is to have my game ready to go."

Parnevik's also touched on the heated subject of Tiger's world-stopping extramarital affairs back in 2009 which saw him admit to cheating on his wife Elin Nordegren.

Woods met Nordegren through Parnevik while she was employed as a nanny for the Swedish golfer's children.

"When the infidelity came to light, it felt like the worst betrayal ever," Parnevik said.
"But over time, I forgave Tiger.

"He and Elin are friends, which is nice, and he's a good parent. His mistakes hurt him, too."
