KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfer Brad Iles is primed for his best result of the Nationwide Tour in the United States.
Iles today produced a seven-under-par 65 in the second round of the US$600,000 ($796,000) Price Cutter Charity Classic in Springfield, Missouri.
That left him sharing second place with two others, two strokes behind the leader, American Colt Knost.
Alongside Iles on 11-under 133 are the American pair of Brent Delahoussaye and Darron Stiles, the latter of whom won this year's New Zealand PGA Championship in Christchurch.
Iles, who opened with a 68, pocketed eight birdies today, his lone blip coming with a bogey five on the 14th.
Through two rounds he has a tournament-high 15 birdies to his name.
He has striped the ball off the tee, averaging 298m with his drives, while also running hot with his putter, which he has used just 55 times through 36 holes.
Iles' best result in his rookie season on the Nationwide Tour is a tie for 24th in last month's Knoxville Open.
The Charity Classic marks the fifth time he has made the cut in 12 tour appearances this term.
Phil Tataurangi, the second New Zealander in the field, missed the cut by two shots after rounds of 72 and 71.
