Tauranga professionals Bradley Iles and Josh Geary surged up the leaderboard at the latest Nationwide Tour event in the United States today after carding seven-under par second rounds.
Iles' bogey-free round of 64 featured seven birdies and saw him move from a share of 52nd after his first round effort of 68 into joint ninth at the Midwest Classic in Kansas, four shots behind Australian James Nitties.
Geary, who lies 64th on the Nationwide Order of Merit, is now tied for 22nd after eight birdies and a dropped shot at the 17th.
Steven Alker (69, 69), Tim Wilkinson (69, 73) and New Zealand number one Danny Lee (70, 71) all missed the cut.
At the rain-affected Czech Open in Celadna, Mark Brown is unlikely to make the cut after a disappointing 77 in the second round after an opening 71.
