KEY POINTS:
A rare stroke of good luck for struggling New Zealand golfer Craig Perks.
Perks has picked up a hole in one on the par three eighth hole during this morning's opening round at the latest US PGA Tour event in Connecticut.
However, it is a rare bright spot in the day for Perks, after he finished with a four over par 74, to be 11 shots off the pace.
The 2002 Players Championship champion has been on the verge of quitting the sport for a while after struggling with his game in recent years.
