New Zealand golfer Mark Brown recorded a hole-in-one in the first round of the Mallorca Open in Spain overnight but struggled with the rest of his round to lie 10 shots off the lead.
The 36-year-old aced the par-3 13th at the Pula Golf Club, but then followed that up with a double bogey at the next hole on his way to a three-over par 73 and a share of 79th.
The Lower Hutt golfer also had a double bogey at the ninth and two more bogeys on the front nine with a birdie on the par-4 seventh the only bright spot until his eagle.
France's Gregory Bourdy set a course record with a 7-under 63 to hold a one shot lead over England's Danny Willett.
