Michael Hendry believes the 14-year wait for a local New Zealand Golf Open champion is about to come to an end.
The New Zealand Open starts today at The Hills and Millbrook courses near Queenstown with 2009 US PGA champion Y.E Yang among the drawcards.
But Hendry who is coming off a solid showing at the WGC tournament in Mexico, thinks New Zealand number two Ryan Fox will be hard to beat.
He says Fox has been playing well for over a year now, with his strong all round game making him a great chance.
Fox is underway at 8:03am on The Hills course while Hendry tees off at 12:44pm, also at The Hills.
