Kiwi golfer Michael Hendry has struggled to an opening round four-over 76 in the first round of the lucrative HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai.
Hendry is tied for 63rd, nine shots behind the leader Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell who has carded a five-under 67.
