Micheal Hendry's held his ground through the first round of the European Tour's China Golf Open.
The Kiwi golfer took the clubhouse lead early in the opening round in Shanghai after a four under 68.
He remains in a three-way tie for the lead heading into today's second round, with England's David Howell and Welshman Bradley Dredge joining Hendry for a one-shot lead.
It comes after winning in Japan last week, which Hendry says has helped his mental approach.
"It does make the game a little easier I think. You don't worry about the little things that you normally do, so it's nice to play tournaments when you're in good form."
