Kiwi golfer Michael Hendry has endured a horror back nine on his way to a six-over 78 in the third round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Florida today.
The New Zealand No 1 produced a brilliant six-under 66 in the second round yesterday as he shot to a share of 10th place heading in to moving day but five bogeys after the turn saw him plummet down the leaderboard.
Hendry, who defended his NZ PGA Championship crown at The Hills last weekend, also double-bogeyed the par-four third hole and dropped another shot on the par-three fourth.
To complete his up-and-down day he also made birdies on the fifth and 17th holes.
His disappointing round left him in a share of 41st place at even par, alongside a collection of other players, including two-time British Open champion Padraig Harrington.
