Hawke's Bay professional Andrew Henare is the best of the kiwis heading into the final round of the South Pacific Export Papua New Guinea Open golf tournament.
Henare shot a one over par 73 at the Port Moresby Golf Club to be eight shots back from the leader Mathew Ballard from Queensland.
Ballard leads the tournament by three shots from Heath Reed (VIC) who won the Coca Cola Morobe Open last week by one shot from Joshua Carmichael.
Michael Hendry, who was looking to add the Papua New Guinea Open title to the Indonesian Open title he won last year on the One Asia Tour, will begin the final round nine shots back in a share of sixth.
