Former world No.1 and two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman will play the USPGA Tour Humana Challenge in La Quinta California this month as a favour to former US President Bill Clinton.
Clinton's foundation is a new partner of the tournament to be held near Palm Springs on January 19-22, formally called the Bob Hope Classic.
While Norman played the Australian Open and PGA this summer he hasn't played a regular US Tour event since the Shell Houston Open in May of 2009.
It is considered a huge shot in the arm for the ailing tournament, which has failed to draw the big names in golf for some time.
"After a conversation with President Clinton, and also with my good friend Scott McCarron's encouragement, I'm all too happy to support President Clinton's commitment to the Humana Challenge and his Foundation," Norman said.
