North Island golf champion Josh Geary shares sixth place going into today's final round of the Players Amateur tournament in the United States, held on two courses.
Compatriot Mark Purser is tied for 15th after two rounds of the rain-affected Eastern Amateur event.
Geary fired a third round three-under 68 at the Belfair GC in North Carolina to join a bevy of players in sixth place.
Purser shot a second one-under 69 at the Eastern Amateur at Elizabeth Gardens Country Club in Virginia.
American Jonathan Moore still leads on 18-under from first-round leader Robert Riesen on 15-under.
