New Zealand golf professional Josh Geary has finished in a three-way tie for fourth in a Nationwide Tour event in the United States today.
Geary shot into contention after a sizzling 61 yesterday and started the final round of the Midwest Classic in Kansas, in third spot, two shots behind Australian James Nitties.
Geary, who needed just 25 putts today, notched seven birdies but damaged his cause with double bogeys on the seventh and 11th holes after beginning with a bogey on the first.
The Tauranga player's putter ran hot in the tournament - after taking 30 strokes with the short stick in the first round, he followed that with 24, 25 and 25 - to be ranked joint fourth best putter in the tournament.
Compatriot Brad Iles finished with a 15-under par 269 (68, 64, 70, 67) to be in a three-way tie for 22nd.
