Golf: Game for amalgamation

New Zealand Golf and Women's Golf New Zealand are just 16 days away from formally amalgamating the men's and women's game in this country.

The final draft of the new constitution was signed this month by the joint committee drawing up the document. It will be tabled at special general meetings of both bodies in Wellington on September 12 to complete the amalgamation process.

The New Zealand Golf Association and the Ladies Golf Union of New Zealand were formally established in 1910 to replace earlier governing bodies.

The Waikato and North Harbour districts have already amalgamated their men's and women's administrations.
