Ryan Fox has been unable to match his hot start, falling off the pace at the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal.
Fox shot out of the gates with a first round seven-under 65 at the European Tour event, but a second round 73 was followed by an even-par 72 overnight to drop him well back into the pack.
Fox's even-par round consisted of four birdies and four bogies, with the in-form Kiwi dropping 17 spots to be in a tie for 28th at six-under for the tournament.
The Portuguese tournament is a one of the smaller European Tour events on the circuit, with many of Europe's best players instead participating in the Paul Lawrie matchplay.
As a result, players like Fox - who won last week on the second-tier Challenge Tour - get a chance to tee it up on the European Tour.
