Golf: Els recovering after surgery

Ernie Els could return to competitive golf before the end of the year. Els had surgery on his left knee last week after injuring himself during a sailing holiday.

He will miss the PGA and NEC Championships this month, and the Presidents Cup next month, as well as the Tour Championship and some European events.
