Francesco Molinari fired an eagle and eight birdies to take a two-shot opening round lead at the Portugal Masters yesterday. Despite one bogey, the Italian matched his lowest-ever score on the European Tour with a 9-under 63. Three players shared second place - Alastair Forsyth, Justin Rose and Charl Schwartzel. New Zealand's Michael Campbell carded a 1-under 1 and compatriot Mark Brown an even par 72.
