Invercargill will host the Asia-Oceania group one Davis Cup tennis tie between New Zealand and India next year.
It will be played indoors at Stadium Southland from February 6 to 8.
Tennis NZ chief executive Mark Graham said Invercargill and the stadium were the most suitable environment and venue.
The talented Indian team would include top doubles player Mahesh Bhupathi and possibly Leander Paes, who was recovering from illness, he said.
Invercargill last hosted a Davis Cup tie 20 months ago when New Zealand beat Indonesia.
Cup captain Bruce Derlin will announce the New Zealand team during the Heineken Open in Auckland in January.
