Danny Lee has at least one more golf tournament to play on the PGA Tour.
It was thought the New Zealand number one's season was over after he missed the cut at the second playoff event, the Dell Technologies Championship in Boston, and fell outside the top 70 on the overall tour standings.
But he's risen to 69th, with other players losing ground, to advance to the penultimate playoff event in Illinois in two weeks.
American Justin Thomas added another big title to a season filled with big moments by outlasting Jordan Spieth and Marc Leishman on the back nine to win the the tournament.
Two shots behind at the turn, Thomas surged ahead with a short birdie and a 6-foot par save and closed with a 5-under 66 for a three-shot victory that was much tighter than the final margin. It was the fifth title of the season for Thomas, including his first major at the PGA Championship.
