Danny Lee is giving financial support to the flood-plagued region of West Virginia where he hoped to defend his Greenbrier Classic title this week.
The Greenbrier has been cancelled and the Kiwi number one will now tune up for the British Open by teeing off in the Scottish Open.
Lee will donate US$500 for every birdie and US$1,000 for every eagle he makes to victims of the natural disaster.
He says despite the disappointment of not defending his title, he's excited to be in Scotland playing on a links course.
He says it is a more traditional form of golf and is nothing like the American game.
