Kiwi golfer Danny Lee has made a horror start to the US Open, carding an opening round of eight-over 78 that has put him 13 shots off the lead.
Lee hit three double bogeys in his round, three bogeys and two birdies.
Lee was tied for 142nd in the field of 156, 13 shots off co-leaders Henrik Stenson of Sweden and lanky American Dustin Johnson, who both finished the day at five-under.
