A five-under par 66 in the second round of the PGA Tour's Deutsche Bank Championship has put Danny Lee in control of snaring a berth on the International Presidents Cup team.
Lee's blistering second round included seven birdies, moving him into a share of 10th in the second event of the FedEx Cup playoffs, but also putting him closer to his goal of making Nick Price's international squad for the prestigious event.
Lee reportedly needs to finish 42nd or better in this week's event to secure a spot on the team, which goes to the top 10 international players on the world rankings. His closest rival - Australian Steven Bowditch - missed the cut.
However, with Lee almost certain to get receive one of Price's two captain's picks if he misses out, his focus can remain on the FedEx Cup playoffs, which will culminate in the season-ending Tour Championship, where the season's top 30 golfers battle it out for the richest prize in golf.
If he keeps up this current form, Lee will be a contender for the Tour Championship, with his putting near-immaculate this morning, only needing 23 putts for the round which saw him move up 16 spots.
