Injuries sustained in a motor accident have sidelined Waikato's Martin Burger from the national interprovincial teams golf championship in Auckland this month.
Burger, 24, was involved in a head-on crash just hours after being named in the Waikato team on Sunday for the championship starting at Titirangi on November 22.
The accident at Meremere left Burger with several broken bones.
The Waikato selectors are waiting to speak to Burger, who is now out of intensive care, in Waikato Hospital before officially naming a replacement.
That replacement is likely to be Brendan Seidel, who was originally named as the team reserve.
