South Korea's K.J Choi won the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass today after defeating David Toms on the first hole of a sudden death playoff.
Toms missed a short putt on the first playoff hole, the 17th, gifting the tournament to Choi for his eighth career PGA tour title.
Earlier Toms forced a playoff after sinking a birdie putt on the 18th to finish at 13-under. One hole earlier Choi went into the outright lead after getting a birdie on the 17th.
American Paul Goydos finished in third place two shots back followed by England's Luke Donald at 10-under.
Overnight leader Graeme McDowell had a day to forget, shooting a seven over 79 today to finish in a tie for 33rd.
