MAMARONECK, New York - Defending champion Michael Campbell and Tiger Woods failed to qualify for the last two rounds of the US Open today.
The New Zealander and the world number one finished on 12-over par 152 at Winged Foot Golf Club.
Campbell had scores of 75 and 77, while Woods had two 76s.
It was Woods' first missed cut at a major championship since his amateur days, ending a record run of 39 consecutive major cuts he shared with golfing great Jack Nicklaus.
Although second round action was still under way, 60 players had already finished ahead of Woods and Campbell after 36 holes to put them out of the tournament.
