KEY POINTS:
DOHA - A third consecutive round of 70 has kept Michael Campbell within six shots of the lead heading into today's final round of the Qatar Masters golf tournament here.
The consistent Campbell improved five places to 15th on the back of another two-under round yesterday and he could be among the big earners if he shoots low today.
The leaders on 12-under are Australian pair Richard Green and Nick O'Hern, along with South African Retief Goosen.
The other remaining New Zealand golfer, Mahal Pearce, slipped from contention with 75 to be two-over.
Green forfeited a two-stroke leading cushion when he double-bogeyed the final hole of the third round, and was forced to take an unplayable lie penalty-drop after his drive came to rest in rocks by the 18th fairway.
The Melbourne-born golfer eventually three-putted for a round of 71.
The leading trio are two shots clear of Sweden's defending champion Henrik Stenson and American Ed Michaels.
Green, 35, tasted success in the 2004 Australian Masters but it has been 10 years since he won on the European Tour.
"I played nicely for most of the day and I am not going to focus too much on one negative and instead look at 17 positives," he said.
O'Hern claimed his second career win last month when he beat compatriot Peter Lonard to win the Australian PGA.
"You can't ask for more than to be going into Sunday with the lead and playing well," O'Hern said.
