KEY POINTS:
Michael Campbell is unimpressed with some of the reporting on the New Zealand Golf Open this week.
Campbell has let his clubs do the talking on the course, firing a second round six under par 65 to grab third place, six-under the card.
Off the course, Campbell's words have been equally sharp. He says the newspaper articles written about the lack of European Tour players at the Open have been "ridiculous".
He says less European players means more chances for young New Zealanders to play in the tournament and also allowed the likes of Phil Tataurangi and Craig Perks to play, so he cannot understand all the negativity.
Michael Campbell tees off in the third round early this afternoon, one shot behind the leaders - England's Nick Dougherty and Australian Wade Ormsby.
South Australia's Ormsby is fast becoming a fan of the New Zealand Golf Open.
He shot a course record eight-under 63 on day two and shares the lead at seven-under par.
Ormsby says the tournament was already one of his favourites, after launching his professional career with an equal fifth placing in 2003.
He says he was nowhere in his career before that so the New Zealand Open has always had a soft spot.
Meanwhile other Kiwis to have the cut include Phil Tataurangi, Michael Long and Stephen Scahill.
