Michael Campbell will play weekend golf for only the third time this year after he made the cut at the French Open by just one shot today.
The former US Open champion and eight-time winner on the European Tour has had another wretched season but carded a three over par 74 at Le National Golf Club in today's second round to finish on a three over total.
He made two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey in his 74, which has him nine shots behind German Marcel Siem (68). Campbell has a good record at the French Open, having finished third there in 2006.
The news wasn't so good for New Zealand No 1 Danny Lee, who missed the cut The Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour.
The 21-year-old, who was disqualified last week for the second time this season for signing an incorrect scorecard, shot a one over par 71 to finish in a share of 107th place and miss the cut by four shots.
