Tiger Woods' New Zealand caddie Steve Williams today unequivocally denied any knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the under-siege golfer since his headline-making accident 11 days ago.
Woods was taken to hospital early on the morning of November 27 after driving into a fire hydrant and a tree. He has been cited for careless driving
The accident came two days after a tabloid reported Woods had been having an affair with New York club hostess Rachel Uchitel.
Since then, he has been linked to at least 10 women with one of them, cocktail waitress Jamiee Grubbs, playing a Woods voicemail to support her claims of a 31-month relationship with him.
Woods has been out of the public eye since the car crash, last week confessing on his website to "transgressions".
"I am dealing with my behaviour and personal failings behind closed doors with my family," Woods said. "Those feelings should be shared by us alone."
A statement from Williams, issued in New Zealand today, was brief.
"I do not have any personal knowledge of anything in the reports related to the Tiger Woods' stories. Kirsty and I give our heartfelt wishes to Tiger, Elin, Sam and Charlie and hope this gets put to rest soon," he said, referring to his own wife and Woods' immediate family.
