KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfer Mark Brown had to content himself with a top-15 result at the Austrian Open in Vienna today.
Brown entered the third and final round of the weather-interrupted European Tour event harbouring title ambitions, sitting in third place, five shots behind Indian Jeev Milkha Singh.
Brown had thrust himself into contention with an eight-under-par 63 in the second round, but he could not replicate that today as an even par 71 saw him drift back to 13th equal on 203.
He finished five shots behind the winner Singh, who also closed with a 71, as Brown had an uneventful round containing one birdie and one bogey.
The result left Brown 22nd on the European order of merit with income this season of 434,570 euro ($897,872).
The other New Zealander to make the cut, Steven Alker, shot a 73 to finish 67th equal on 213.
