KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfers Mark Brown and Gareth Paddison still have a chance over the next two weekends to win a place in the British Open, starting on July 17.
They will join Michael Campbell in the inaugural 2.4 million euro ($5.10 million) European Open at the London Club course in Kent, England, this weekend.
Campbell and David Smail are the only New Zealanders at present in the British Open at Royal Birkdale.
However Brown or Paddison, or both, could join them by securing a top five place in the European Open, or the following weekend's Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, provided no non-exempt player finishes ahead of them.
Brown did not succeed in an Open qualifying tournament this week.
Wellington-born Paddison tried unsuccessfully on five previous occasions, including the last four years in succession, to qualify for the Open.
