Michael Campbell says his stunning US Open golf win has spurred him to chase more major titles.
Campbell plans to return to New Zealand late next month, two weeks after the British Open, and is desperate to share his victory with his country.
Apart from playing three or four more American tournaments each year - he now has a US tour exemption from having to qualify until 2010 - Campbell will stick to his winning formula based around the European Tour.
"What stands out is the way I played the last nine holes against the best player in the world. He was coming at me left, right and centre," said Campbell of his duel with Tiger Woods.
"I conjured up so much energy and power from somewhere ... the best golf of my life.
"Absolutely, I believed I had it in me. Once you break down that barrier of the first major it will just flood in. This is a huge confidence boost.
"I want multiple major championships. How high is high? Ask anyone around me. I'm very confident.
"I've always been up and down since the amateurs, either missing cuts or winning tournaments. I'm either shooting 80s or 60s. Maybe this will bring the consistency."
Campbell was also still revelling in the media attention. "I need to keep a connection to the fans and this is the way to do it."
He has had more than 8000 emails via his website and will attempt a mass reply. And he was most proud of the messages from fellow professionals, including Australian great Greg Norman.
The All Blacks also sent him a congratulatory note, saying he had inspired them.
