Springfield's Danny Lee is set to become the third Rotorua 13-year-old to play for the Bay of Plenty men's golf team.
Lee topped the recent association trial at The Ballantyne Golf Club in Katikati with a stunning five-under-par total from the one-day 36-hole trial.
The effort saw Lee named at number nine in the Bay of Plenty 10-man team to play this weekend's Bay Harbour Quadrangular in Napier.
Lee, who turns 14 on July 24, surpasses Sam Hunt by six days to become the second youngest player to have pulled on the blue and gold senior colours of New Zealand's champion golfing province.
The youngest known is Jae An, who played his first senior representative quadrangular at 13 years and five months in 2001.
South Korean born Lee has been a member of the Springfield championship pennant team for the past two seasons as well as representing Bay of Plenty at junior level.
