Annika Sorenstam birdied four of the last seven holes to win the LPGA Championship in Wilmington, Delaware, yesterday, capturing her seventh major golf title after squandering most of a six-stroke lead.
In the third round, Sorenstam fired a bogey-free, seven-under 64 to seize a six-stroke lead, then struggled to a one-over 72 to finish on 13-under 271, three strokes ahead of runner-up Ahn Shi Hyun, of South Korea.
