New Zealand golfers fared poorly in the The Players' Championship at Sawgrass in Florida today.
Suffering from a shoulder injury, Michael Campbell pulled out of the PGA Tour after shooting nine over par on the opening nine holes, including a quadruple bogey on the seventh.
Tim Wilkinson of Palmerston North finished five-over-par with 77 to lie 12 shots off the leader, American's Ben Crane.
Wilkinson had a triple bogey, a bogey and a birdie to be three-over at the turn.
He opened his back nine with a birdie, but three bogies tumbled him down the leaderboard, from where he will struggle to make the cut.
