Golf: Bad day for Nobilo

Frank Nobilo has slipped off the pace after a third round 1-over-par 73 at the US PGA Tour qualifying school in California.

Nobilo fired two birdies and three bogeys in his round to be 9-under for the tournament in a tie for 34th, 12 shots behind the clubhouse leader South African Andrew McLardy who is 21-under-the-card.

Fellow kiwi Craig Perks is better placed at 11-under in a share of 21st place after a 2-under-par 70 today.

The top 35 after six rounds qualify for next year's US PGA Tour.
