Australian caddie Shane Joel is the favourite to take on Tiger Woods' bag full-time after being spotted talking with the 14-time major champion.
Joel has caddied for Mark O'Meara, a good friend of Woods, over the past seven years and has been offered up as a replacement for recently fired Kiwi Steve Williams.
Speaking in the lead up to the season's final major, the PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club, Woods confirmed Joel was on his short-list but refused to commit.
He'll use good friend and business partner Byron Bell this week in Atlanta but hopes to make a change before the FedEx Playoffs begin in the US on August 25.
"There's nobody I've committed to but Mark was nice enough to talk to me about it and said that Shane is available if I so choose,'' Woods said.
