DOHA - New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell's new caddie-share arrangement will get its first airing at the Qatar Masters starting tomorrow.
The 2005 US Open champion has long been loyally served by Michael Waite, who last year signalled he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Campbell has facilitated this by employing another New Zealand bagman, Anthony Knight, to share the assistant's duties with Waite.
Knight, 36, has travelled from Auckland to join Campbell in the Middle East for this week's European Tour event.
Knight, widely known as 'Antman', will carry Campbell's bag for his next six events -- the Qatar Masters, Dubai Desert Classic and Malaysian Open on the European Tour, before he heads to the United States for the Bay Hill Invitational, the new CA Championship in Florida and the Houston Open.
Waite will return to work for Campbell in next month's World Matchplay Championship in Arizona and the Masters at Augusta, the year's first major.
"I am very excited about being back on tour and it's great to be here as I have known about this for 12 months or so," said Knight, who has previously been employed by former New Zealand tour pro Frank Nobilo and Spanish star Sergio Garcia.
"It's a trial and error thing and we'll see if Cambo likes it. I will carry on and if he doesn't, well ... but it won't be a case of Cambo not knowing who is going to turn up at each event.
"I've caddied on the tour for seven years so I am no stranger to this game."
Campbell's last outing was the New Zealand Open in December when he finished in a tie for second behind Australian Nathan Green.
