New Zealand golfer Steve Alker was tied for 23rd after his second round in the PGA Tour's qualifying school final in Florida today.
Alker fired a two-under par 70 to accompany yesterday's 71 on the Panther Lake course at Orange County National.
Alker was away early today with the majority of the field still to complete the second round.
Alker's compatriot Michael Long shot a first round 70 and Tim Wilkinson had a 69.
Only the top 30 and ties from the 164-man field earn their PGA tour cards for 2006 after six rounds.
American Michael Allen was the first round leader following his 64 with three players tied for second on 69.
