Kiwi golfer Steven Alker has missed the cut at the Puerto Rico Open on the PGA Tour.
Alker carded a one-over 73 during his second round today but his opening effort of 76 from yesterday proved costly as he missed the cut by three strokes.
The Hamilton professional, who came in to the tournament in 173rd on the FedEx Cup standings, was projected to drop to 181st in the FedEx Cup, which will further hinder his ability to get starts as the season progresses.
The Puerto Rico field was watered down this week as the world's best were playing the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship event in Florida.
