Steven Alker's surprise turn around in form continues.
After a miserable year on the Nationwide Tour in the States, Alker has suddenly his his straps at q-school in California.
He's fired a second successive four under par 68, to be outright second at eight under par.
The top 20 and ties after four rounds go through to the final stage next month.
Tim Wilkinson, Brad Iles and Mike Hendry are also well placed in their respective events, but Grant Waite and Danny Lee are battling to stay in the hunt while Phil Tataurangi looks unlikely to regain his tour card.
