Kiwi golfer Steve Alker fired a two-over par 72 in the final round of the US Open at the Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania today to sit in a share of 53rd place.
Alker had his best round of the tournament in an up and down day which included five birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys.
Leader Phil Mickelson begins his round later this morning. The American holds a one-shot lead at one-under over Charl Schwartzel, Hunter Mahan and Steve Stricker.
