The Wells Fargo Championship will have two New Zealand presences over the weekend, with Steven Alker and Danny Lee both in solid positions after making the cut.
Lee was the big mover on the day, shooting a three-under 69 to move up 26 spots into a share of 19th at four-under par, bouncing back strongly from his missed cut at the Players Championship last weekend.
Alker - in his first fully-fledged PGA Tour season since 2003 - has made just four cuts so far this season, sitting in a tie for 32nd after a second round even-par 72 has him at three-under for the tournament.
Fellow Kiwi Tim Wilkinson missed the cut after rounds of 74 and 76 saw him placed well down the leaderboard, which is led by American duo Webb Simpson and Robert Streb at 10-under par.
World number one Rory McIlroy is in a tie for fifth at seven-under alongside Phil Mickelson after the duo shot 67 and 66 respectively this morning.
