Ryan Fox has snuck through to the weekend by a whisker at The 147th Open Championship with a solid round of even-par, while Mike Hendry will be returning home after a challenging day at Carnoustie.
It wasnt a typical round for Fox today who started with 10 straight pars to
remain outside the cutline at three-over, before finally breaking through on 11 with a classy birdie.
It was a nervous wait for #FoxTracker fans with the projected cutline sitting at two-over par when Fox made bogey at the 17th. He was then able to finish with a remarkable par on 18 to give himself a chance of playing the weekend.
It took three long hours before the cutline finally pushed out to three-over and Fox was able to enjoy his dinner in the knowledge he was staying for the final two rounds.
"I played a lot better than yesterday, but it was a pretty stressful finish after making bogey on 17," grinned Fox.
"It was a nervous wait for us all, but Im just happy to get another chance tomorrow and try climb my way up the leaderboard."

Playing in the group behind Tiger Woods, there were no shortage of galleries for Fox which added to the amazing experience, but their side of the draw certainly got the more challenging of the conditions and they will be hoping this can swing in their favour early on moving day Saturday.
The lack of links golf preparation seemed to hurt Hendry this week as he was unable to get things going today carding a round of seven-over par to end his championship at nine-over.
It was a good day for the marquee players which has produced an exciting leaderboard entering the third round. Zach Johnson (USA), Kevin Kisner (USA) and Zander Lombard (RSA) lead the way at six-under par, but it was the injection of Tommy Fleetwood, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy who lifted the Carnoustie crowd to be in touch.
Fleetwood carded the round of the day with six birdies and zero bogeys in the tough morning conditions for his 65 (par 71).
