Defending Masters champion Jordan Spieth is showcasing his Texan roots with his menu choice for today's Masters Club Dinner at Augusta.
The Dallas-born 22-year-old has chosen Authentic Texas Barbecue as the main for the traditional dinner, including beef brisket, smoked half chicken and pork ribs. The mains will be accompanied with BBQ baked beans, bacon and chive potato salad, spring beans, grilled zucchini and roasted squash.
Spieth, who went wire to wire at Augusta last year, chose to open the meal with a green salard with corn muffins and went with warm chocolate chip cookie for desert.
The meal will no doubt please patrons compared to previous editions such as Scotsman Sandy Lyle's choice of haggis in 1989. In 1986 Germany's Bernhard Langer's picked Wiener schnitzel while Englishman Nick Faldo famously served fish and chips.
